Jordan Cashmyer, who starred in "16 and Pregnant," is dead. She was 26.
Cashmyer's stepmother, Jessica Cashmyer, announced the news on Sunday on Jordan's father's Facebook page, along with a black-and-white photo of the deceased reality star.
"Last night I received a call that no parent ever wants. My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are really broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER , ”Was Jessica's post.
"Please keep my family in your thoughts as we navigate through this terrible tragedy. Understand and respect our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, granddaughter Lyla and family members. Jessica Cashmyer."
The family did not reveal Jordan's cause of death.
Jordan appeared in the MTV reality series in 2014 alongside his then-girlfriend, Derek Taylor, and their daughter, Genevieve "Evie" Shae Taylor.
Jordan's episode followed her as she struggled with unemployment, homelessness and being denied by her family after she pursued a relationship with Taylor that her parents did not approve of.
Her personal life continued to revolt outside the camera when she had to sign the temporary custody of Evie to Taylor's mother in 2015. Jordan was arrested for possession of drugs two years later, Deadline reported.
Before her sudden death, Jordan turned her life around when she had recently celebrated a year of sobriety.
"This is an incredibly sad day. Jordan was a sweet and caring person," Jordan's representative told E! News. "Last time we spoke, she was fine and looked like a good place both mentally and physically. I wish "that people had the opportunity to know her beyond her struggles. I have always been rooted in her and am grateful that I had the chance to know and work with her all these years."
He added: "Life was not always kind to her, so now she is able to be at peace."
