List of counties with snow emergencies

CLEVELAND (WJW) - Several counties in Ohio have issued snowstorms as a winter storm has swept over the area.

An emergency can be issued when the sheriff of a county decides that the roads have become dangerous for traffic.

Here are the affected counties so far:

ASHLAND AMT

A level 2 snowstorm has been issued for the county and motorists are encouraged to drive carefully as ice can be a factor.

COSHOCTON COUNTY

A level 2 road conditions council has been issued for this county, which means that only those who feel the need should be out on the roads. The roads are expected to be icy slippery and there is snow blowing.

ERIE AMT

A level 1 winter weather road conditions advice has been issued in this county due to dangerous ice or snow on the roads.

HOLMES AMT

A Level 1 snow emergency has been issued for all Holmes County roads. More here.

A level 2 emergency for snow has been issued in Medina County. More here:

A level 2 emergency for snow has been issued in this county due to windy and drifting snow.

WAYNE COUNTY

A level 2 snow emergency has been issued in Wayne County. The sheriff's office reports that many vehicles are stuck due to winds and snow drifts.
