The Dallas Cowboys have had another season finale that did not live up to expectations, and several fans who watched Saturday’s playoff loss in person did not.

Cowboys fans were seen throwing trash on the field at the end of the team’s 23-17 loss to the 49ers in the wild card round. While it initially appeared that fans were throwing dirt at players, reports later said that fans' anger was instead directed at officials.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott downgraded fans by throwing dirt on players before being told they were actually targeting officials. Cowboys fans were on the wrong end of several questionable calls from officials during the final sequences of Saturday's game.

"An honor to them," Prescott said.

The Cowboys' Super Bowl drought will now reach 26 years. Dallas' last appearance in the big game was its 27-17 victory over the Steelers in Super Bowl XXX. Since then, the Cowboys have not progressed beyond the division round in the playoffs.
