Bridgerton Season 2 First Look Teaser Pictures

Daphne is back! And she gives Anthony a worried look!

Netflix has given us shouts Bridgerton fans a bit of what's coming. You know, as a pleasure to compensate for the second season's painful release date of March 25th.

Oh, how I long for the naivety of the days before December 25, 2021, when I still thought season 2 would delight us all in January.

By this I mean that the streamer has just released next season's first-look pics! To say that they are amazing, wonderful, exciting, seductive, etc., etc. is somehow still an understatement. Where is the preventive production design Emmy ?!

In case you have not followed closely Bridgerton news, this season will explore the tumultuous (and tempting) love affair between Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Executive producer Shonda Rhimes told Variety about the couple: "I think there is a strong, interesting, romantic couple at the heart of it. They are an incredibly interesting and exciting couple. I like watching them."

First out is this picture of Lady Portia Featherington (Polly Walker) walking royally down a flight of stairs flanked by her entourage (also the rest of her family, the only important one being Penelope). She walked so Mrs. Fran Fine could run, IMHO.

Of all the questionable matching wardrobe decisions she has made, this rose gold look is not half bad! It borders the ostentatious territory, but I'm more aware of her icy gaze. Who is she looking at? Why is she so strict? Or is she just like that? (Probably, but who says ?!)

Secondly, we have Simone as Kate, Charithra Chandran as her sister Edwina, and what I assume is their family's lovely pet corgi.

If I had to venture a qualified guess (and I will, you can not stop me), this could still be from a scene where Kate and Anthony meet for the very first time. If you're a fan of Julia Quinn's novels, on which the series is based, you would know that Anthony first wooed Edwina as a suitable wife. And given how disapproving - or rather nonchalant and uninterested - Kate looks, it is (possibly, hopefully) safe to say that this is the birthplace of their enemies-to-lovers arc!

Once again I ask: Where πŸ‘πŸΌ is πŸ‘πŸΌ πŸ‘πŸΌ Emmy ?! In this third picture, we have Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) reading a pamphlet that I could only assume comes from Lady Whistledown herself.

This picture comes from the second episode of the season, so I want to theorize that Ms. Whistledown has already managed to wreak havoc on the city's pocket in London. It's okay though, the queen can rest quietly in her museum-worthy mansion from the Regency era.

A guard! Here we have the Bridgerton bros fencing the day away. I'm sure this scene has lots of witty banter that we are unfortunately not familiar with yet.

It's time to place our bet: I think Anthony will initially win the round against Colin (Luke Newton), but then become too overzealous and / or distracted, giving Colin the chance to set him up. I would venture to say that Anthony's mind is already occupied with Kate!

It's getting serious! In this picture - the first from episode 3 - Phoebe Dynevor returns as Daphne (now Basset, not Bridgerton)! Given the worried expression on her face, she might be back in town to give her horny mess of a brother some much-needed advice.

Anthony's face, in turn, seems to say, "Thank you, but no thank you."

In this episode 4, Kate still joins Anthony, his brother Benedict and Jack (played by the series' newcomer Rupert Young) on what appears to be a hunting activity. I'm almost 99.8% sure she surprises them all by being the best shot.

To everyone Yellowjackets fans out there, it gives me the same energy as Natalie showing Travis! IYKYK!

Dear all, this picture is the cause of my untimely death. In this absolutely dizzying picture, we see Kate and Anthony in their first dance. I feel like this is one of those ballroom moments that precedes THE garden talk we saw in the teaser trailer. You can almost hear (and definitely see) Kate's breathing!

Either way, I want to tackle Fergie's "London Bridge".

And last but certainly not least, we have a picture of Penelope (played by Nicola Coughlan, aka the unknown genius mastermind Lady Whistledown) with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie). What could they plan?

Will this season give Eloise a clue as to what her bestie has done? Is this the confession scene? We have so many questions!

Well, that rounds out the eight new images of the upcoming season. Netflix, give us more corgi pictures, your cowards! And postpone the release date if you really are!
