Though Pokémon Legends: Arceus still more than a week away, some of its Pokédex compendium already appears to have been leaked online. The apparent datamine gives us a good look at all the new, recurring and remixed monsters that are set to appear in the upcoming game.
It should be a matter of course, but this whole blog is going to be full of Pokémon Legends: Arceus spoilers. I'm even going to use our handy dandy spoiler image, so no crying if you get a glimpse of something you would not see before the game's official launch on January 28th.
Okay, everyone's here because they want to be, right? So let's dig in.
Somehow, early copies of Pokémon Legends: Arceus started popping up in the wild recently, and die-hard fans wasted no time in drawing high-quality images of all the Pokémon in the game along with their rare, shiny variety of colors. In terms of their truth, some of the most high-profile Pokémon delicious, especially the infamous CentroLeaks, has shared the photos over the last many hours along with an actual video of the game in action. Media that portray parts of the game that are not yet public are also quickly being pulled by the copyright owners, which also makes it look like the leak may be the real deal.
The leaks claim it Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is set in an old version of Diamond and Pearl's Sinnoh mode known as Hisui, features 242 monsters. Among these are obvious inclusions like Pikachu and Gengar along with new forms that are unique to the Hisui region. We have already seen a couple of these variants through official channels—Hisuian Voltorb in wood is particularly adorable- but the remixes do not stop there.
Pokémon Legends: ArceusFor example, three starters receive new secondary types with their second development: Hisuian Decidueye is grass / fight, Hisuian Typhlosion is Fire / Ghost, and Hisuian Samurott is Water / Dark. Sneasel, usually Ice / Dark, is instead Poison / Fighting in Hisui. Qwilfish goes on punk rock as a Dark / Poison type. The beautiful Lilligant hardens up with a Fighting secondary. And finally, the squishy dragons Sliggoo and Goodra see further strength to their defense with the addition of a Steel key.
Oh, you will new Pokémon? Well, you're lucky. In addition to well-known newcomers such as Wyrdeer, Basculegion and Kleavor - courtesy of Stantler, Basculin and Scyther respectively -Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduces hitherto unnamed developments for Sneasel, Qwilfish and Ursaring, the latter of which is Ground-type. There also seems to be a new "natural force" of the Fairy type joining original Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus trio.
As with most games in the series that have been spoiled prior to their release, it is Pokémon Legends: Arceus leaks are fast becoming a tidal wave of new details as we approach its official release date. If you are hoping to enter the game with fresh eyes, you would probably do well to just avoid all sources of Pokémon info provisionally, because it does not appear that the leaks will be slower provisionally.
