You can now save $ 20- $ 36 a year on YouTube Premium and Music Premium with new annual subscriptions

If you're a new or existing user of YouTube Premium and Music Premium who lets you watch and listen without commercials, you may be able to save up to $ 36 per year with Google's new annual plans, which 9to5Google reports. From now until Sunday 23 January, users can receive an extra discount with the promotional price, but the new annual plans cost less than the current monthly rate in both ways.

YouTube Premium's new annual subscription is currently selling for $ 107.99, about $ 36 less than you would pay for a year at the current monthly price of $ 143.88.

For YouTube Premium Music subscribers, the annual price is currently $ 89.99, but will be priced at $ 119.88 after Sunday - still almost a $ 30 saving compared to paying monthly.

Users can also still sign up for a month-to-month subscription - $ 11.99 for YouTube Premium and $ 9.99 for YouTube Music Premium, the same price as before. Both services offer a 7-day free trial period for new users before the user is charged for the entire month.

While the annual subscription offers an option for YouTube Music Premium users, it may not make sense if you have an earlier, cheaper plan. You would pay 11 cents more for an annual plan if you currently pay $ 9.99 a month for YouTube Music, and that's an even worse deal if you still have the old $ 7.99 plan, 9to5Google reports.

With an annual plan, you have to pay for both services in advance, and YouTube says it does not automatically renew at the end of a year. For existing subscribers, you may need to change your subscription to qualify: It is not available to those who have family and study subscriptions, and existing individual users on monthly subscriptions must cancel their current subscription before they can purchase the annual service. The plans are also only available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Turkey, Germany, Thailand, India and Japan.
