John David Duggar and his wife Abbie are finally talking about a plane crash that happened in October, which they allegedly blamed for a 'double engine failure'.

The son of Jim Bob Duggar, 32, and his better half, 29, released a statement about the traumatic ordeal to Celebuzz on Friday.

"An emergency landing or any kind of plane crash is a scary thing, but that's exactly what pilots are trained for," the couple began.

'We are so grateful for God's protection as we all walked away unharmed when this happened last October,' they continued. 'We appreciate so much the love and care so many have expressed towards us!'

People reported that the 32-year-old former reality TV star blamed a 'double engine failure' for the crash, which took place on October 29 around 1 p.m.

Although no one was injured, there was 'significant' damage to the plane and John David called 911.

The crash was confirmed by the Humphreys County Sheriff's Department, and the 911 confirmed that John David flew and was also the one who called.

He said that due to the double engine failure, he had to land his Piper PA-30 aircraft in a field in Waverly, Tennessee.

However, a spokesman for the local sheriff's department told The Sun that John David had just run out of petrol.

"A family from Arkansas ran out of fuel and landed on a field," they said.

People also reported that the plane was registered to Medic Choppers, LLC. and belonged to the Medic Corps, a non-profit organization that dispatches' teams of cross-trained rescuers to both foreign and domestic mass casualties.

The organization is not affiliated with the Medical Corps.

John David is the Medical Director of Medic Corps, while Nathan Bates from the TV show Bringing Up Bates is its Chief Operating Officer.

The accident came six months to the day after John's older brother Josh was arrested. Josh was found guilty of two counts of child pornography last month.

He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $ 250,000 on each charge if convicted.
